Detailed introduction

Bozhou is a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province, located in the northwestern part of the East China Plain. Covering 8,429 km² with a permanent population of about 4.86 million, it is classified as a large Type I city. As a national historical and cultural city, Bozhou has a history of over 3,700 years and is one of the birthplaces of Taoist culture, as well as the hometown of the famous Three Kingdoms general Cao Cao. Economically, Bozhou is centered on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), hosting the world's largest herbal medicine distribution center—the China (Bozhou) TCM Trading Center—with an annual transaction value exceeding 100 billion yuan. Meanwhile, liquor brands like Gujing Gongjiu enjoy national fame, forming a 'medicine and liquor dual-engine' industrial structure. In education, Bozhou has institutions such as Bozhou University and Bozhou Vocational and Technical College, where specialized programs in TCM pharmacology and brewing engineering attract international students. Culturally, sites like the Huaxilou Opera House, Cao Cao's Underground Tunnel, and Huatuo Temple carry deep historical significance. The city preserves intangible cultural heritage such as Hua Tuo's Five-Animal Exercise and paper-cutting. Daily life is convenient, with high greenery coverage, moderate living costs, and well-developed community facilities. For international students, Bozhou offers an excellent environment to study TCM culture, with living expenses far lower than in first-tier cities, ideal for immersive experiences blending traditional Chinese culture with modern life.
