Detailed introduction

Jiaxing has a long history, dating back to the Spring and Autumn period when it was part of the Wu and Yue kingdoms, giving it a rich cultural heritage. In 1921, the First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party concluded on a游船 (pleasure boat) on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, earning the city the title 'Birthplace of the Party'. Economically, Jiaxing is a key manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta, with thriving industries in textiles, leather, chemicals, and photovoltaics, while also actively developing the digital economy and high-tech sectors. In terms of education, the city hosts several universities such as Jiaxing University and Jiaxing Nanhu College, and benefits from close educational ties with Shanghai and Hangzhou. Daily life is convenient with well-developed commercial facilities, including Wanda Plaza and the Eight Hundred Companions shopping center. Known as the 'Land of Water Towns', Jiaxing is crisscrossed by rivers and dotted with ancient towns. Wuzhen is the permanent venue for the World Internet Conference, while Xitang is a living thousand-year-old town. For international students, Jiaxing offers both the tranquility and poetry of traditional Jiangnan and the vitality and opportunities of a modern city. With just a one-hour high-speed train ride to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou, it is an ideal starting point for exploring Chinese culture.
