Detailed introduction

Daxinganling, located in the northeastern border of China, covers an area of about 46,800 square kilometers with a permanent population of approximately 300,000. It is a typical forest ecological region. Historically, it was home to ethnic minorities such as the Xianbei and Oroqen. Today, its pillar industries are forestry, green food, and eco-tourism. The administrative seat, Jiagadaqi, serves as the political, economic, and cultural center. In terms of education, there are basic schools like Jiagadaqi No.1 Middle School, but higher education resources are limited, though universities like Heilongjiang University are accessible in nearby cities. Culturally, the Oroqen and Evenki minorities preserve unique hunting traditions, birch bark crafts, and shamanistic beliefs. The pace of life is slow, the air is fresh, and the natural environment is pristine—ideal for international students who enjoy tranquility and nature. Winter temperatures can drop to -40°C, requiring warm clothing; summers are mild, making it a great summer retreat.
