Anshun is located in the central-western part of Guizhou Province, with a long history as a key city in central Guizhou. Covering 9,269 km² with a permanent population of 2.47 million, it is classified as a large type II city. The city is centered on karst landscapes, featuring Huangguoshu Waterfall (Asia's largest waterfall), Longgong Cave, and Getu River, earning it the titles 'Land of Waterfalls' and 'Karst Museum.' Its subtropical monsoon mountain climate brings cool summers, with an average annual temperature of 14-16°C, making it a popular summer retreat. Tourism is the economic pillar, supplemented by specialty agriculture (tea, medicinal herbs) and equipment manufacturing.
