Detailed introduction

Wuxi is located in southern Jiangsu Province, on the shores of Taihu Lake, with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal running through the city. Its advantageous geographical position has made it a 'land of fish and rice' since ancient times. As one of the birthplaces of modern Chinese national industry, Wuxi has developed into an important manufacturing base and a highland for the Internet of Things (IoT) industry in the Yangtze River Delta, hosting emerging industrial clusters such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, and new energy. The city has a long history dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties, preserving numerous cultural heritages including Huishan Ancient Town, Jichang Garden, and Donglin Academy. In terms of education, Jiangnan University is a 'Double First-Class' university directly under the Ministry of Education, internationally renowned for its food science and engineering, light industry technology and engineering programs. There are also several applied colleges such as Wuxi Institute of Technology. The cost of living is more affordable compared to first-tier cities like Shanghai and Nanjing. With high urban greening rates, the scenic Taihu Lake shoreline, Lihu Lake, and Yuantouzhu are popular leisure spots. International students can experience the elegance of Jiangnan water towns while being exposed to cutting-edge technology and industries, achieving both academic and cultural enrichment.
