Detailed introduction

Quanzhou is one of the three major central cities in Fujian Province, located on the eastern coast of China, facing Taiwan across the sea. As one of the first 24 historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council, Quanzhou has a history of over 1,300 years and was the world's largest port during the Song and Yuan dynasties, known as the 'Great Eastern Port.' Economically, Quanzhou is dominated by private enterprises, with thriving industries such as textiles, footwear, building materials, home furnishings, and food processing. Well-known brands like Anta, Xtep, and Septwolves originated here. In recent years, Quanzhou has actively developed the digital economy, smart manufacturing, and cultural tourism, with its economic output consistently ranking among the top in Fujian Province. In education, Quanzhou is home to several universities, including Huaqiao University (directly under the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee) and Quanzhou Normal University. Huaqiao University is particularly noted for its international orientation and enrolls a large number of international students. The city also has multiple vocational colleges and research institutions. Daily life in Quanzhou is convenient, with well-developed infrastructure, commercial complexes, hospitals, and parks. The climate is pleasant, with greenery year-round and good air quality. Although Minnan dialect is widely spoken, Mandarin is commonly used, making communication easy for outsiders. Quanzhou is safe, with friendly locals and a moderate cost of living, making it an excellent place for international students to study and live.
