Detailed introduction

Luohe City is located in the south-central part of Henan Province, covering an area of 2,617 square kilometers with a permanent population of about 2.34 million, classified as a large city type II. Luohe has a long history as the hometown of Xu Shen, a renowned Confucian scholar and philologist of the Eastern Han Dynasty. His work 'Shuowen Jiezi' is the first systematic Chinese dictionary analyzing character forms and origins, earning Luohe the title 'City of Chinese Character Culture'. Economically, Luohe is China's first 'Food Capital', hosting headquarters of well-known food companies like Shuanghui Group. The food industry accounts for over 60% of the city's industrial output, forming a complete chain from cultivation, processing to logistics. In recent years, Luohe has developed vocational education, with institutions like Luohe Vocational and Technical College and Luohe Medical College offering programs in food science, medicine, and more for international students. The city enjoys a relaxed pace of life, with the Sha and Li Rivers flowing through, tree-lined parks, and high per capita green space. Living costs and rent are significantly lower than in big cities like Zhengzhou, ideal for budget-conscious students. Locals are hospitable, and Mandarin is widely spoken, making daily communication easy.
