Detailed introduction

Jingzhou is a prefecture-level city in Hubei Province, located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the heart of the Jianghan Plain, historically known as the 'thoroughfare of nine provinces.' As one of the first 24 historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council, Jingzhou has over 3,000 years of history. It was once the capital of the Chu State (Ying) and a strategic battleground during the Three Kingdoms period. Economically, Jingzhou has developed clusters in equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical chemicals, agricultural product processing, and electronic information, while leveraging the Yangtze River's golden waterway for port logistics. In education, Yangtze University is a comprehensive provincial university with an International Education College, offering programs in Chinese language, engineering, medicine, and more. Other institutions include Jingzhou Vocational College. Living costs are much lower than in big cities like Wuhan, with monthly expenses around 2,000–3,000 RMB. The climate has four distinct seasons: hot and humid summers with abundant rain, and cold, damp winters—be prepared for humidity and warmth. The city has high green coverage and many parks, ideal for weekend relaxation. International students can immerse themselves in profound Chu culture while enjoying modern urban conveniences.
