Detailed introduction

Hezhou is located in the northeastern part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, covering an area of 11,753 square kilometers with a permanent population of about 1.99 million. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with long, hot, and rainy summers and mild winters. Hezhou has a long history, having been incorporated into the Central Plains dynasty as early as the Qin and Han dynasties. It was an important node on the Xiao-He Ancient Road, serving as a meeting point between Central Plains culture and Lingnan culture. Economically, Hezhou relies on eco-tourism, green agriculture, and the calcium carbonate industry, and has recently been developing the health and wellness sector, earning the nickname 'Back Garden of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.' In terms of education, Hezhou University is the only undergraduate institution in the city, offering various applied majors and engaging in exchanges with ASEAN countries. The city has a slow pace of life, low prices, and hospitable residents. It is home to multiple ethnic groups (Han, Zhuang, Yao, Miao, etc.), preserving many traditional villages and folk activities such as the Yao King Pan Festival and the Zhuang March 3rd Festival. For international students, Hezhou is an ideal place to learn about southern Chinese rural culture and experience ecological civilization, with only 1-2 hours of high-speed rail to major cities like Guilin and Guangzhou.
