Detailed introduction

Ganzhou, also known as Qianzhou in ancient times, is the largest prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province by both area and population. Located in the upper reaches of the Gan River and at the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains, it is often called the 'Southern Gateway of Jiangxi.' With a history dating back to the Qin Dynasty, Ganzhou became one of China's 36 major cities during the Song Dynasty. It was the first stop for Hakka ancestors migrating south, earning the title 'Cradle of Hakka Culture.' Additionally, as one of the starting points of the Chinese Red Army's Long March, it is celebrated as the 'Red Capital,' with revolutionary sites in Ruijin and Yudu. Economically, Ganzhou is known as the 'Kingdom of Rare Earth' and the 'World Capital of Tungsten,' rich in mineral resources. In recent years, it has developed rapidly in electronics, new energy vehicles, and modern furniture. For education, the city hosts several universities such as Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Gannan Normal University, and Gannan Medical University, offering Chinese language and professional programs for international students. Life here is affordable and relaxed. Local cuisine, a branch of Jiangxi food, is spicy, with specialties like Ganzhou stir-fried fish, Xingguo rice noodles with fish, and Ningdu meatballs. The city enjoys high greenery coverage and the scenic confluence of the Zhang and Gong Rivers, making it a pleasant place to study and live.
