Detailed introduction

Chifeng, located in southeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, covers about 90,000 square kilometers and is one of the most populous cities in Inner Mongolia. As the birthplace of the Hongshan Culture, it holds the dawn of Chinese civilization dating back 8,000 years, with the famous Jade Dragon unearthed here. Historically, Chifeng was a political and cultural center of the Liao Dynasty, and the ruins of the Liao Shangjing capital still remain. Economically, Chifeng relies on energy (coal, wind power), non-ferrous metal smelting, and modern agriculture, while tourism is booming with attractions like Ulanbutong Grassland and Hexigten Global Geopark. In education, Chifeng University is the main higher education institution, offering programs in Mongolian and collaborating with domestic universities. The cost of living is low, and public security is good. Though a fifth-tier city, it has adequate commercial facilities including shopping malls, hospitals, and international hotel chains. Mongolian and Han cultures blend here; Mandarin is the common language, while Mongolian is used in certain settings. International students can experience nomadic culture, grassland festivals (e.g., Naadam), and authentic Mongolian cuisine (hand-grabbed lamb, milk tea).
