Detailed introduction

Tongchuan is located in central Shaanxi Province, bordering Yan'an to the north and Xi'an to the south. Covering 3,882 square kilometers, it has a permanent population of about 700,000. Once a major energy base in Northwest China known for its coal resources, Tongchuan has successfully transformed into an eco-friendly city, promoting cultural tourism and green industries. Its history dates back to the Tang Dynasty, with Yaowang Mountain being the hermitage of the famous physician Sun Simiao, and Yuhua Palace serving as Emperor Taizong's summer retreat. In terms of education, the city has several primary, secondary schools, and vocational colleges. Although it lacks large comprehensive universities, its proximity to Xi'an allows students easy access to higher education resources in the provincial capital. Economically, besides traditional energy, ceramics, building materials, and modern agriculture are emerging. The cost of living is low, the pace of life is relaxed, residents are friendly, and public security is good. The climate is temperate continental with four distinct seasons: cold and dry winters, hot and dry summers, and short springs and autumns. For international students, Tongchuan offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic life in an inland Chinese city, away from the hustle and bustle of big cities, facilitating focused study and deep cultural immersion.
