Detailed introduction

Xilingol League (abbreviated as Ximeng) is a prefecture-level division under Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with its administrative seat in Xilinhot City. As a key grassland ecological barrier in northern China, Xilingol Grassland is one of the world's four major grasslands, often called 'Heavenly Grassland.' Historically, this area was a vital region for northern nomadic tribes. The Site of Xanadu (Shangdu) in Zhenglan Banner is a UNESCO World Heritage site, witnessing the glory of the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. Economically, animal husbandry is the pillar, producing renowned green livestock products like beef, mutton, and dairy. Rich coal and wind resources also drive the energy sector. In recent years, tourism has grown rapidly, attracting visitors with grassland scenery, folk experiences, and eco-adventures. For education, Xilingol Vocational College is the main higher education institution, offering specialties in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, Mongolian medicine, and tourism management, with exchange programs with Mongolian universities. Life here is slow-paced, with simple and honest people, blending traditional Mongolian culture with modern living. International students can learn Mongolian, experience horse riding and archery, and participate in folk activities like offering sacrifices to Obo. Urban infrastructure is gradually improving, but convenience is lower than in first-tier cities, making it suitable for students who love nature and seek a peaceful study environment.
