Detailed introduction

Yingtan is situated in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province, along the middle and lower reaches of the Xin River, covering an area of 3,560 km² with a permanent population of approximately 1.15 million. As a vital railway hub in East China, it emerged from the convergence of three major rail lines—Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Anhui-Jiangxi, and Yingtan-Xiamen—earning it the nickname 'City Pulled by Trains.' Its economy centers on copper smelting and processing, hosting China's largest copper industrial base, Jiangxi Copper Corporation, while also developing modern services like tourism and logistics. In education, Yingtan is home to the Yingtan Campus of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and Yingtan Vocational and Technical College, offering diverse programs for international students. Culturally, Yingtan is one of the birthplaces of Taoism; Mount Longhu, as the ancestral seat of Taoism and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, attracts numerous visitors and scholars annually. With a slow pace of life, affordable prices, and a safe, friendly community, international students can easily integrate into local life.
