Program overview
This major basically teaches you two things: first, how to make the best use of agricultural resources like land, water, and fertilizers; second, how to protect crops, fruit trees, and vegetables from pests and diseases. Core courses include Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, Agroecology, Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Pesticide Science. You'll also learn practical techniques like precision fertilization, biological control, and smart monitoring. It's ideal for students who enjoy hands-on experiments, have an interest in nature and agriculture, and are willing to work both in the field and the lab. Many agricultural universities in China (such as China Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, and Northwest A&F University) have strong field trial bases and school-enterprise cooperation projects, giving you access to real agricultural production scenarios.
