Program overview
Agronomy Education, simply put, teaches you two things: understanding agriculture and knowing how to teach it. You'll learn how crops are grown, how soil is managed, how pests and diseases are controlled, as well as how to design courses, deliver lessons, and evaluate learning outcomes. Core courses include Crop Cultivation, Soil and Fertilizer Science, Agricultural Entomology, Agricultural Extension, Educational Psychology, and Instructional Design. Many agricultural universities in China offer this program, with a strong emphasis on hands-on practice—schools typically have their own farms or experimental stations where you can plant crops and conduct experiments, while also interning at primary, secondary, or vocational schools to practice teaching. This program is ideal for students who are passionate about agriculture, enjoy interacting with people, and want to spread agricultural knowledge. If you aspire to become an agricultural teacher, technical trainer, or work in agricultural extension back home, this major will give you a solid foundation.
