Program overview
Fashion communication, simply put, is about learning how to present fashion products, brands, or ideas to the public in the coolest way possible. You'll study the basics of communication (like journalism theory, media studies), but the core courses are more hands-on: fashion marketing, brand management, visual communication, and fashion criticism. Many Chinese universities, such as Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and Donghua University, leverage local fashion industry resources to offer internships at fashion weeks and involvement in brand planning. This major is perfect for those passionate about styling and pop culture, who also enjoy writing, photography, and event planning — you don't necessarily need to design clothes, but you must know how to make others fall in love with them.
