Program overview
Environmental design is simply about "beautifying and optimizing spaces." You'll not only learn to draw and model but also understand materials, lighting, ergonomics, and even a bit of psychology—because good design should make people feel comfortable and use things smoothly. Core courses include: Design Fundamentals, Architectural Drawing, CAD/3D Modeling, Interior Design, Landscape Design, Environmental Psychology, Sustainable Design, etc. Chinese universities have a distinct advantage: many schools involve students in real urban renewal and rural renovation projects, such as transforming old factories into creative parks or creating pocket parks for communities. If you enjoy hands-on work, are creative, care about ecology, and don't want to just sit in front of a computer drawing, this major is a great fit.
