Program overview
In simple terms, stomatology studies how to treat and prevent diseases of teeth, gums, oral mucosa, and jawbones. You might think it's just 'looking at teeth,' but it's actually quite rich: from basic procedures like fillings, extractions, and cleanings to orthodontics, dental implants, oral tumor surgery, and even facial plastic surgery. Core courses include Oral Anatomy and Physiology, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, etc. Hands-on skills are especially important. Chinese universities usually have excellent simulation head model labs and clinical internship bases, such as Peking University School of Stomatology and West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, with advanced equipment and a large number of cases. Suitable for students who are careful, dexterous, patient, and enjoy interacting with people, since you need to communicate treatment plans with patients.
