Program overview
Obstetrics and Gynecology is a vital branch of clinical medicine that studies the physiology and pathology of the female reproductive system, pregnancy, childbirth, and related diseases. Graduate studies go deeper, with core courses including Gynecology, Obstetrics, Reproductive Endocrinology, Perinatal Medicine, Family Planning, and Eugenics. You will learn to diagnose and treat conditions like gynecologic tumors, endometriosis, and infertility, as well as master prenatal screening, high-risk pregnancy management, and delivery techniques. Chinese universities offer strong clinical resources in this field—for example, Peking Union Medical College Hospital and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University have extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery and assisted reproductive technology. This specialty suits students who are meticulous, patient, good communicators, and dexterous, as OB/GYN doctors must handle sensitive patient issues while making decisive surgical moves.
