Program overview
TCM Surgery is not just about learning acupuncture and drinking herbal decoctions. It focuses on treating surgical diseases with TCM methods—such as sores and ulcers, skin diseases, anorectal diseases, bone injuries, and breast diseases. Simply put, it deals with conditions that require "hands-on" treatment, but without the heavy intervention of Western medicine. Core courses include "Fundamentals of TCM Surgery", "Sores and Ulcers", "Dermatology", "Anorectal Diseases", "Orthopedics and Traumatology", and "TCM Surgical Techniques", along with basic Western surgical training. You will follow clinical instructors to see patients, change dressings, perform minor surgeries, and even participate in the heritage workshops of renowned senior TCM practitioners. This program is ideal for students who are passionate about TCM clinical practice, have strong hands-on skills, and are willing to integrate traditional theories with modern diagnostics. TCM universities in China, such as Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, have strong surgical clinical teams and specialized departments—for example, TCM anorectal and TCM dermatology are nationally renowned.
