Program overview
Electrical Engineering and Intelligent Control, simply put, is "electricity" plus a "brain." You'll not only learn core electrical engineering knowledge like circuits, motors, and power systems, but also how to use computers, sensors, and automatic control technology to make electrical devices smarter. For example, smart grids can detect faults and automatically switch power supply, and factory robots can adjust their actions based on commands—all of this relies on this major. Core courses include: Circuit Principles, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Electrical Machinery, Automatic Control Principles, Power Electronics, Fundamentals of Intelligent Control, Embedded Systems, Sensors and Detection Technology, and Power System Analysis. Some schools also offer cutting-edge courses like New Energy Power Generation Technology and IoT Applications. This major is ideal for students who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in electricity and automation. If you did well in high school physics (especially the electricity section) or like tinkering with microcontrollers and robots, you'll have a great time studying it. Chinese universities invest heavily in smart grids and industrial automation, with many labs featuring real microgrid platforms and industrial robot workstations, offering plenty of hands-on opportunities.
