Program overview
Intelligent Measurement and Control Engineering is essentially about teaching machines to become 'smart'—to perceive their surroundings (using cameras, radar, temperature sensors, etc.), make decisions based on data (like braking when an obstacle is detected ahead), and precisely control actions (like having a robotic arm pick up a part). Core courses include sensor technology, embedded systems, automatic control theory, signal processing, machine learning, and intelligent instrument design. You'll also learn to write control programs in Python or C++ and build and debug hardware circuits. This major is perfect for students who love hands-on work and have an interest in both electronics and programming. Chinese universities have a clear advantage here: many schools have dedicated labs for smart cars, drones, and robotics, allowing you to dive straight into projects. For example, Tsinghua, HIT, and Zhejiang University all have strong measurement and control teams with close ties to companies like Huawei, DJI, and BYD, offering plenty of internship opportunities.
