Program overview
This program focuses on the manufacturing processes, performance testing, and product development of nonwoven materials (commonly known as nonwoven fabrics). You'll learn how to turn fibers into fabric without traditional looms, using chemical, mechanical, or thermal bonding methods. Core courses include Nonwoven Materials Science, Textile Materials Science, Polymer Physics and Chemistry, Nonwoven Process Principles, and Product Design and Development. It's ideal for students who enjoy hands-on experiments, are interested in materials science, and don't mind splitting time between labs and factories. China is particularly strong in this field—universities like Donghua University, Tiangong University, and Jiangnan University have solid faculty and lab facilities, and many schools collaborate closely with industry, giving you access to real production lines.
