Program overview
Procedural Law, simply put, is the study of "going to court." It teaches you how the three major litigation procedures—civil, criminal, and administrative—work, how to use evidence, and how to argue in court. Core courses include Civil Procedure Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Administrative Procedure Law, Evidence Law, Arbitration Law, and Enforcement Law. If you enjoy logical reasoning, debating, or are interested in upholding fairness and justice, this major is a great fit. Chinese universities have unique advantages in Procedural Law, such as the mediation system (court mediation and people's mediation) and the trial supervision procedure, which are quite distinctive internationally. Additionally, China is advancing judicial reforms like smart courts and online litigation, and these new trends are also covered in the curriculum.
