Program overview
Flight Vehicle Control and Information Engineering, simply put, is about studying how to make aircraft, drones, rockets, and other flight vehicles "think" and "act" on their own. You'll learn how to design flight control systems for stable flight and autonomous navigation, as well as how to acquire information and make decisions through sensors and communication technologies. Core courses include Automatic Control Principles, Flight Mechanics, Navigation and Guidance, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and more. This major is perfect for those fascinated by airplanes and spacecraft, who enjoy hands-on programming and tinkering with circuit boards, and don't mind math and physics. China has a unique edge in this field—for instance, at universities like Beihang University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, students can work with real drones, satellite simulators, and even participate in commercial aerospace projects.
