Program overview
Cryptography Science and Technology is a computer-related major under the engineering discipline. In simple terms, it is the study of how to "lock" and "unlock" information. You will learn core courses such as mathematics (e.g., number theory, algebra), programming (C/Python), cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, elliptic curves), network security protocols, and blockchain technology. Chinese universities have unique advantages in this field: for example, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and Xidian University are at the forefront of research in commercial cryptographic standards, quantum cryptography, and post-quantum cryptography. Moreover, China has the Cryptography Law, ensuring a mature industry regulatory framework. This major is suitable for students with a solid foundation in mathematics, a liking for logical reasoning, and curiosity about information security.
