Program overview
Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, simply put, is about making machines work on their own — and doing it fast and well. At the graduate level, you'll dive deep into mechanical design, manufacturing processes, automation control, sensor technology, and industrial robots. Core courses include "Mechanical Design," "CNC Technology," "Principles of Automatic Control," and "Smart Manufacturing Systems." This major is perfect for students who love taking things apart, are curious about how machines move, and enjoy solving real engineering problems. Many Chinese universities have top-notch labs, such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology's Digital Manufacturing Equipment Lab and Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Robotics Institute, where students can directly participate in corporate projects and turn theory into real products.
