Program overview
Detection technology and automation devices, simply put, is about studying how to make machines 'see', 'hear', 'touch', and react automatically. You'll learn how sensors convert physical quantities like temperature, pressure, and position into electrical signals, which are then analyzed and controlled through circuits, microprocessors, and algorithms. Core courses include sensor principles, automatic control theory, signal processing, embedded systems, machine vision, industrial communication, and more. There are many lab sessions where you'll often solder circuits, debug programs, and build control systems. It's suitable for students who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in both hardware and software—especially those who 'want to take apart devices to study them.' Chinese universities have unique strengths in this field. For example, Tsinghua, Zhejiang University, and Harbin Institute of Technology have national-level labs and close partnerships with companies like Huawei, DJI, and Siemens, giving you access to the latest industrial robots and autonomous driving test platforms.
