Program overview
Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering, simply put, studies how to safely and efficiently transport oil and natural gas from underground to refineries, chemical plants, and then to your kitchen or gas station. Core courses include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, pipeline design, tank and storage technology, oil and gas metering and automation, etc. You will learn how to design long-distance oil and gas pipelines, manage large oil storage tank farms, and simulate pipeline operations using computers. China has unique strengths in this field, such as the West-to-East Gas Pipeline megaproject and coastal LNG terminals, which are globally leading. If you enjoy hands-on work, are interested in the energy industry, and don't mind occasional fieldwork in remote areas or by the sea, this major is a great fit for you.
