Program overview
Clean energy technology is essentially about finding more eco-friendly and sustainable ways to generate, store, and use electricity. You'll learn how to design solar photovoltaic systems, optimize wind turbines, improve battery storage efficiency, and manage smart grids for energy distribution. Core courses include Renewable Energy Principles, Energy Storage Technologies, Energy System Modeling, and Power Electronics & Motor Control. This major is perfect for students who are passionate about physics, chemistry, and the environment, and enjoy hands-on experiments or software simulations. A big advantage in China is that many universities (like Tsinghua, Xi'an Jiaotong, and North China Electric Power University) have national-level new energy labs and close industry partnerships—you might even visit internship bases at Goldwind or CATL while studying. Plus, China is the world's largest market for solar and wind power, so the cases you study are often real projects, making learning very practical.
