Program overview
Agricultural electrification, simply put, is about using electrical and electronic technology to transform traditional agriculture. You might think agriculture and electricity don't go together, but think about today's smart greenhouses, automated irrigation, drone fertilization, and photovoltaic agricultural greenhouses — all of these rely on this major. Core courses include circuit principles, motors and drives, automatic control, sensor technology, agricultural machinery and electrification, and rural power grid planning. Some schools also teach new topics like agricultural IoT and big data analysis. It's suitable for students who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in both hardware and software, especially those who get excited seeing machines in action. China has a strong advantage in this field, with universities like China Agricultural University, Northeast Agricultural University, and Jiangsu University offering well-equipped labs and practice bases where you can work on real smart agriculture projects.
