Program overview
The Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering program teaches you to solve agricultural water issues using engineering techniques. Core courses include Hydraulics, Soil Science, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Hydrology, Water Pumps and Pumping Stations, Farmland Water Conservancy, and Water-Saving Irrigation Technology. You will also learn how to design irrigation systems, manage farmland drainage, assess water resources, and use computer simulations for water conservancy projects. This major is ideal for students interested in water conservancy, agriculture, and the environment, who enjoy hands-on practice and solving real-world problems. China is a major agricultural country with a long history of water conservancy and rapid development of modern technologies. Chinese universities, such as China Agricultural University and Hohai University, have distinctive features in water-saving irrigation and smart water conservancy, offering many experimental bases and internship opportunities where you can operate irrigation equipment and participate in farmland water conservancy design projects.
