Program overview
This program focuses on how the basic principles of Marxism are integrated with China's specific national conditions, historical culture, and practical issues, forming a theoretical system with Chinese characteristics. Simply put, it examines how Marxism has "transformed" in China and why. Core courses include Selected Readings of Marxist Classics, Historical Process of Sinicization of Marxism, Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, and Political Economy. You will also encounter methodological courses such as Social Survey and Policy Analysis. This program is suitable for students interested in theory, history, and politics, who enjoy thinking about "why" and "how." Many top Chinese universities (such as Peking University, Renmin University, and Fudan University) have dedicated schools of Marxism with strong faculty, and they organize field trips to revolutionary base areas or reform-and-opening-up frontier regions, allowing you to see firsthand how theory influences reality.
