Program overview
Intelligent Construction is an interdisciplinary field combining civil engineering with computer science, automation, IoT, and other technologies. Simply put, it teaches you how to use cutting-edge technologies like BIM (Building Information Modeling), drone surveying, robotic construction, and AI monitoring to build houses, bridges, and subways. Core courses include: BIM Technology and Application, Intelligent Construction Equipment, Construction Robotics, IoT and Smart Construction Sites, Data Analysis and Machine Learning (Civil Engineering focus). Many Chinese universities (such as Tongji, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology) have dedicated intelligent construction labs where you can even get hands-on experience with 3D-printed buildings or drone inspections.
