Program overview
This program belongs to Instrument Science and Technology. At the graduate level, you'll learn how to accurately measure physical quantities (temperature, pressure, displacement, vibration, etc.) and achieve intelligent control through instruments or systems. Core courses include sensor technology, signal processing, error theory and data processing, optoelectronic detection, embedded system design, and more. You'll work with various sensors, circuit design, programming, and data analysis, with plenty of hands-on experiments. It's perfect for students who are curious about physics and electronics, enjoy taking things apart to understand how they work, and have some programming foundation. Chinese universities are strong in this field—Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, for example, have national key labs and close ties with industry, giving you access to real-world projects.
