Program overview
Measurement Control Technology and Instruments, simply put, teaches you how to make machines 'see, hear, and touch' and react automatically. The core areas are sensors, signal processing, automatic control, and computer technology. You'll learn to design smart instruments and build automated systems—like enabling robots to precisely grasp objects, cars to avoid obstacles autonomously, or factory production lines to automatically inspect product quality. Core courses include: Circuit Analysis, Analog/Digital Electronics, Sensor Principles, Automatic Control Theory, Signals and Systems, Embedded System Design, and Smart Instruments. There are plenty of lab sessions where you'll often solder circuits, write code, and tune parameters—perfect for hands-on learners interested in electronics and programming. Chinese universities have a strong engineering-practice focus in this field. Many have national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and close partnerships with companies like Huawei, DJI, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences for joint training. If you're into 'hardcore' engineering but don't want to study only pure theory, this major is a great fit.
