Program overview
Public Service Management, simply put, teaches you how to operate and manage institutions that serve the public—such as governments, hospitals, schools, and environmental organizations. Core courses include Public Policy Analysis, Administrative Management, Public Finance, Urban Management, and Nonprofit Organization Management. You'll learn how to formulate policies, allocate resources, evaluate project outcomes, and get hands-on with data analysis tools (like SPSS and GIS). Many top Chinese universities, such as Tsinghua, Fudan, and Sun Yat-sen University, offer strong faculty and programs in this field, often including government internships or case competitions. This major suits students who are curious about "how to make society run more smoothly." You don't necessarily need to be super outgoing, but logical thinking and a touch of idealism help.
