Program overview
Engineering Auditing is a practical major under Management Science and Engineering. Simply put, it's about 'keeping accounts and checking' for engineering projects. You'll learn both engineering knowledge (e.g., Introduction to Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Engineering Measurement and Pricing) and auditing and management (e.g., Auditing Principles, Internal Control, Financial Management, Project Risk Management). Core courses include Engineering Economics, Construction Project Auditing, Engineering Cost Management, Contract Law and Bidding, etc. This major is especially suitable for those who are sensitive to numbers, have strong logical thinking, and enjoy solving practical problems. If you don't want to spend all day drawing blueprints, nor just staring at financial statements, Engineering Auditing lets you have a foot in both worlds. Many Chinese universities (such as Nanjing Audit University, Chongqing University) have distinctive programs in this field, combining real case teaching and even arranging internships at construction companies or audit bureaus, allowing you to directly engage with project sites.
