Specialization introduction

Major introduction

A practical major that teaches you how to plan, operate, and manage conferences, exhibitions, and events, blending management with creativity.

Program overview

In simple terms, this major teaches you how to pull off a conference, exhibition, or festival from scratch to a polished event. You'll learn how to set themes, secure sponsorships, manage budgets, control on-site logistics, and pick up marketing and communication skills along the way. Core courses include Event Planning and Management, Project Management, Marketing, Financial Management, and Business Communication. Some schools also incorporate digital tools (like virtual event platforms) and green event concepts. It's perfect for students who love lively environments, have creative flair, aren't afraid of interacting with people, and enjoy sweating the details. Chinese universities have a natural advantage here: cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen host numerous international exhibitions each year, and many schools take students for on-site internships or even direct participation in real projects, such as the Canton Fair or the China International Import Expo. If you're interested in cross-cultural communication, this major lets you engage with exhibitors and audiences from around the world—pretty fascinating.

Major prospects

Career prospects
