Program overview
Social Work is about helping people through scientific methods. In simple terms, through core courses like casework, group work, and community work, you learn to listen, assess needs, and connect resources to help people cope with life challenges—such as poverty, family conflicts, psychological stress, and disability rehabilitation. You'll also study social policy, human behavior and the social environment, and social research methods to understand the social roots of problems. Social work programs in Chinese universities emphasize practice. Many schools have partnerships with community service centers, welfare homes, and hospitals as internship bases, giving you plenty of opportunities to directly interact with clients. This major suits students who are patient, good at communication, and passionate about fairness and justice. If you enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and want to be a "helper," this major is for you.
