Program overview
The Early Childhood Education program focuses on the physical and mental development patterns and educational methods of children aged 0-6. You will study courses such as Child Developmental Psychology, Early Childhood Education Theory, Kindergarten Curriculum Design, Play Theory, Children's Literature, and Basics of Music and Art. The core is understanding how children learn, play, and socialize, and then designing activities and environments that suit them. Many Chinese normal universities have affiliated kindergartens, giving you plenty of opportunities for frontline observation and practice—like designing a lesson or organizing an outdoor game. This program is perfect for those who genuinely enjoy being with children, have patience and creativity—if you're interested in child psychology or love drawing, playing the piano, or storytelling, this will be a great fit. Chinese universities place special emphasis on the integration of care and education in early childhood education, so you'll also learn practical childcare skills like child nutrition and safety first aid.
