Program overview
Sports Human Science might sound a bit high-end, but it's essentially applying biology, mechanics, and medical knowledge to exercise and health. Simply put, it studies how people move, how well they move, and what changes occur in the body after movement. Core courses include Sports Anatomy, Sports Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition, and Sports Medicine. You'll measure muscle electrical signals in the lab, analyze gait, conduct fitness tests, and learn how to design training programs and prevent sports injuries. Chinese universities have a clear advantage in this field: many have national-level sports training bases or sports hospitals, such as Beijing Sport University and Shanghai University of Sport, giving you access to real cases from national team athletes. This major suits students who are interested in sports and enjoy hands-on experiments—you don't necessarily have to be an athlete yourself, but you should be willing to explore how the human body works.
