Program overview
FinTech, simply put, is "using technology to do finance." You'll learn two sets of skills: financial knowledge (e.g., monetary banking, investment, risk management) and technical tools (e.g., Python programming, databases, machine learning, blockchain principles). Core courses include Introduction to FinTech, Quantitative Investment, Blockchain and Digital Currency, and Big Data Financial Risk Control. This major is especially suitable for students with strong math and logic skills, who don't dislike computers, and are interested in financial markets. Chinese universities have a clear advantage here: many instructors have industry experience, and courses incorporate real-world cases from Alipay, WeChat Pay, and Ant Group, sometimes even inviting corporate mentors to teach. Additionally, China's mobile payments and digital yuan are world-leading, allowing you to engage with cutting-edge applications in the classroom.
