Program overview
Joint Operations Command is a graduate program under Military Science that focuses on how to coordinate different branches—such as the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force—to achieve efficient battlefield cooperation and a 1+1>2 combat effect. In simple terms, it's about learning how to "fight as a team" but with discipline and strategy. Core courses include Joint Operations Theory, Command Information Systems, Knowledge of Military Services and Branches, Strategic Planning and Decision-Making, Campaign and Tactical Analysis, and more. You'll engage in extensive case-based wargaming and simulation training, such as using computer simulations to analyze battlefield environments and evaluate different command plans. This program is ideal for students interested in military strategy, international security, and organizational management, especially those who enjoy logical analysis, teamwork, and decision-making under pressure. China has unique advantages in this field: first, the Chinese military has been vigorously promoting joint operations reform in recent years, with rich experience in realistic combat training; second, institutions like the National Defense University and the National University of Defense Technology have advanced simulation labs and experienced instructor teams, many of whom have real command experience. International students can learn Chinese characteristics of joint operations concepts, such as "system-of-systems confrontation" and "information dominance," which may not be covered in Western textbooks.
