Program overview
Circuits and Systems is a graduate program under Electronic Science and Technology. In simple terms, it focuses on how to design, analyze, and optimize electronic circuits and systems. You won't be learning to repair phones, but rather understanding from the ground up how signals are processed, how chips work, and how systems are integrated. Core courses include Analog and Digital Integrated Circuit Design, Signals and Systems, Embedded Systems, RF Circuits, VLSI Design, and more. If you enjoy hands-on experiments, have a curiosity for hardware, and don't mind math and physics, this program is a great fit. Chinese universities invest heavily in integrated circuits and communications, and many labs are equipped with advanced EDA tools and tape-out opportunities—for example, at Tsinghua University, Fudan University, and the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—giving you access to the full design-to-test process.
