Program overview
Military Preventive Medicine is a distinctive branch of public health and preventive medicine, focusing on health issues in military settings, special operational environments (such as plateaus, polar regions, tropical jungles), and large-scale disasters. Simply put, it's about how to keep soldiers and special occupational groups healthy and maintain combat effectiveness. Core courses include: military epidemiology, military environmental hygiene, radiation and chemical protection, nutrition and special environment physiology, disaster medicine, etc. You will also learn how to quickly identify and respond to threats such as biological weapons and chemical agents. China has strong practical experience in this field. For example, the military medical universities of the People's Liberation Army (such as Naval Medical University and Air Force Medical University) have specialized laboratories and field training bases, allowing students to engage in real military medical drills. This major is suitable for students who are interested in both medicine and military affairs, enjoy solving practical problems, and can adapt to certain physical challenges. You don't need to be a soldier, but you need to be passionate about public health and willing to work under pressure.
