Program overview
Intelligent Science and Technology, simply put, teaches machines to think, learn, and make decisions like humans. In college, you'll dive into three core areas: first, computer fundamentals—programming (Python, C++), data structures, and algorithms; second, mathematics—probability and statistics, linear algebra, optimization methods—these are the tools for understanding machine learning models; and third, intelligent technologies themselves—machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and more. Many top Chinese universities (like Tsinghua, Peking, Zhejiang University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University) have strong labs and industry-academia partnerships in this field, giving you chances to work on real projects like autonomous driving, smart healthcare, or voice assistants. This major suits students who enjoy math, think logically, and are curious about AI products. You don't need to be a coding expert from day one, but you should be patient with math and code.
