Program overview
Rehabilitation Therapy is a major that teaches you how to use physical, exercise, and occupational methods to help patients regain physical function. Simply put, it's about helping stroke survivors walk again, getting sports injury patients back on the field, and slowing down degeneration in people with dementia. Core courses include Human Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Assessment, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. A unique feature of Chinese universities in this field is that many schools have deep partnerships with hospitals, giving you the chance to start clinical internships as early as your sophomore year, working directly with real patients. This major suits students who are patient, hands-on, and enjoy interacting with people—because you'll be working with patients daily, guiding them through exercises. The progress may be slow, but seeing them improve brings a huge sense of accomplishment.
