Program overview
Smart Animal Husbandry Science and Engineering is essentially about giving traditional animal farming a 'smart brain.' You'll not only learn the basics of animal science (like nutrition, reproduction, and disease control) but also master hard skills like computer science, IoT, and big data analytics. Core courses include: Animal Physiology, Smart Farming Technologies, Sensors and IoT, Livestock Big Data Analytics, Intelligent Equipment and Robotics, and Pasture Information Management. It's perfect for students who love animals and are also interested in programming and data analysis. Chinese universities have unique strengths in this field—for example, China Agricultural University and Huazhong Agricultural University have dedicated smart animal husbandry labs where students can use drones to monitor pastures, AI to identify animal health status, and even blockchain to trace milk sources.
